2011 CODCon OpenSaturday 16th April 2011 - Sunday 17th April 2011 Glen Ellyn (West Chicago suburb), United States Contact: Jim OKelley The Weasels will be back at the CODCon gaming convention to host their fifth annual CODCon Open. Last year, we had eight boards over the three rounds. We expect eight or nine this year. We'll have two rounds on Saturday and one on Sunday, with a brief awards ceremony following the final round on Sunday. The event will end no later than 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. The tournament will feature a central clock and drop-dead timing and likely will use the Sum of Squares scoring system. We'll award plaques for first- through third-place, certificates for fourth through seventh, and plaques for the Best Country awards. Starts on Friday at 6PM, Saturday from Midday and Sunday from Midday, with the awards ceremony on Sunday at about 5PM. Players may score 3 rounds of Diplomacy towards the tourmanent. To give folks a last chance to familiarise themselves with the European way of doing things, games will run to Winter 1907 and we'll score using C-Diplo73. Winners trophy, Best Country awards, other prizes to be won! New players welcome - this is an event supported by the UKF2FDip Initiative. Weasel Moot VFriday 9th September 2011 - Sunday 11th September 2011 Chicago, United States Contact: Jim OKelley The hobby's best-named tournament is back for a fifth installment, and this year, we're returning to our old home in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood. The event will open Friday night at the Days Inn Chicago, 644 W Diversey Parkway. Rounds 2 and 3 will be on Saturday, and we'll hold an awards ceremony at 10 a.m. Sunday. Last year, we had 37 players and 12 boards over the three rounds. Those numbers included 13 travelers. We expect a larger turnout in 2011 as we run up to the World Diplomacy Championship, which the Moot will host in 2012. The event will feature a central clock and drop-dead timing.
