BoruCon Scoring

1. Scoring

Individual games are scored using the C-Diplo system (modified, Irish-style).

1.1. Game Score (GS)

GS = Centre count + Participation Bonus + Positional Bonus + Survival Bonus

Participation bonus = 1 point for all players (except in the case of a solo).

Positional bonus is :

Survival bonus is :

For each year that you survive you score two points (one for spring and one for fall). Thus if you are eliminated in 1905, you score 2pts for each year previous to that. 1901, 2, 3 & 4 is four years at 2 pts each, which is 8 pts.

A player taking 18 centres scores 89 points while all other players on that board score only survival points.

Example: On a board of 7 the following results are obtained

Country Position Centre Count Participation Bonus Position Bonus Survival Bonus Game Score
Germany 1 10 1 40 16 67
England 4 (joint) 4 1 2.5 16 23.5
France 7 0 (1906) 1 0 10 11
Austria 3 6 1 10 16 33
Italy 6 3 1 0 16 20
Russia 4 (joint) 4 1 2.5 16 23.5
Turkey 2 7 1 20 16 44

1.2. Final Score (FS)

FS for the Irish Championship is calculated after 3 rounds. FS is sum of all three GS.

Example: Two players have the following scores after the three rounds

Name Round 1 Score Round 2 Score Round 3 Score Final Score
Bob 67 25 8 67 + 25 + 8 = 100
Matt 11 56 30 11 + 56 + 30 = 97

1.3. Irish Champion Decided

The player with the highest FS will be crowned the Irish Champion.

1.4. Team Tournament Decided

The Team tournament will take place during the Saturday morning round. The teams will have four players each, and the team score will be the sum of the 4 players’ GS for that round.

Example: Ted, Bob, Pete and Will form a team and they get Game Scores as follows in the Saturday Morning Round.

Name Game Score
Ted 41
Bob 3
Pete 12
Will 8
Team Score 41 + 3 + 12 + 8 = 64

The team with the highest Team Score will win the Team Tournament.
