Sightseeing in the UK
This part of the tour has not yet been decided. There are a number of options. We may split up and offer a choice between them, or we may look for a majority decision. More details nearer the time. In the mean time, let us know what you'd like to do while in the UK for July 20th and 21st. Choices include:
- Sightseeing in London. See more of the largest city in Europe. Home of many of the UKs most populour tourist attractions, including Buckingham Palace and The Mall, The Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, Nelson's Column and Trafalgar Square, Hyde Park, Regents Park, many museums, Madame Tusauds, the London Eye, and many many more.
- Visits to Stratford-on-Avon and York. Firstly, visit the home of Shakespere, the most famous author in the World. Stratford-on-Avon has hardly been changed since the time of the Bard. It is still all 17th Century houses, some of which are now museums. And then York, one of the oldest cities in the UK, where you can still see a lot of the history of the city - including York Minster, one of the largest and most important churches in the UK, the city walls, and the Jorvik Museum, which is built around an excavated part of the Viking city.
- See Edinburgh. The capital of Scotland, and home to one of the most impressive castles in the UK, built on a solid stone hill, it towers over the city. And then walk down from the castle along the Royal Mile, and cross through Princes Gardens into Princes Street, the main shopping street in Edinburgh.
- See the North Coast of Wales. 60 miles of some of the best coastline in the UK, with sandy beaches and a series of castles, including Conway and Caenarfon Castles, two of the largest castles in the UK. Or head slightly inland to Snowdonia, an area of unspoilt natural beauty, including the second largest mountain range in the UK. Climb to the top of Snowdon - or cheat, and take the only rack-railway in the UK to the top and back.
- See the Lake District. One of the most rugged areas of England, which includes the largest and deepest lakes in the UK, and the highest mountains in England. If the great outdoors is where you want to be, then this is the place for you.
Or maybe you have your own ideas. It's your holiday, so let us know what you are thinking of doing, and we'll see how we can help.
