The default search puts an "and" between all keywords in the regular
text search field. For advanced searches, the default in the "author(s)"
and "subject(s)" fields is an "or." (DejaNews does that, so don't ask us
why.) These defaults can be overridden with the operators described below.
Quotes can be used to search for phrases instead of individual words
An asterisk is a wildcard
The boolean operators are "&" for "and," "&!" for "and not,"
"|" for "or."
The "near" operator is "^[number]", which looks for words within [number]
characters of one another. Using just "^" gives a default distance of 5 characters.
Parentheses can be used with the logical and near operators for more complex searches.
