The fourth annual
ARMADA Regatta will take place in Denver, Colorado on Presidents
Day weekend, February 14-16, 2003.
Denver successfully hosted the 2001 North American
Championships, and the Regatta has been attended by
tranatlantic players as well as the best players
from around the U.S. and Canada.
The collective experience in
Denver makes it the ideal host for the
Thirteenth World Diplomacy
Championships (World DipCon XIII).
Held at the Hyatt
Regency Denver Tech Center, in conjunction with the
Denver Gamers Association at GenghisCon XXIV, the area's
largest gaming convention, the ARMADA Regatta enjoys the
full support of the convention organizers, who have pledged
to do all they can to make the 2003 Regatta an event to
remember.
In addition to Diplomacy, GenghisCon offers a full schedule
of board gaming, RPGA role-playing, miniature games, auctions,
collectible card games, anime, a junior con, live action
role playing games, and
the region's largest dealers rooms.
The Diplomacy event will be held in the top-floor,
wrap-around Centennial Room! This is the hotel's penthouse
space (shown
at left before its conversion from a restaurant to meeting
space) with
a 360-degree view of Denver and the Rocky Mountains to the
west! Tremendous space for the
hundreds of Diplomats
expected to attend.

Travel
Centrally
located between the coasts, it couldn't be easier to get to
Denver. With its state-of-the-art airport,
travelling to Denver is a breeze. The airport,
just twenty minutes from downtown Denver and from the convention
site, is a major hub for United Airlines, which means lower
fares from most cities.
With
daily direct transatlantic
flights, international travelers are well accommodated.
Rent
a car at the airport or just say the word and the ARMADA will
be at the airport to pick you up.

Lodgings
Accommodations
in Denver are very reasonably priced.
The Hyatt Regency is one of Denver's finest luxury hotels,
and the host convention always
negotiates a very good price for rooms, never more than
$79.00/night. (AAA members can receive an even lower price!)
Even less expensive lodgings are available
nearby.
Overseas travelers
will receive free admission to the convention, and can
take advantage of four hotel suites, provided
without charge by the convention.
Additionally, ARMADA members will form a couch brigade to put
up any attendees who shun hotel life.
The food in Denver consistently receives high marks.
With on-site convention catering, a snack bar,
two restaurants, and a sports bar all right in the hotel,
and a large number of
full restaurants and fast-food joints within walking
distance,
Diplomats will dine (and drink) in style.
