About Denver
You may be thinking that Denver, Colorado is not the place
you want to be in the middle of winter. Despite what you might
have seen in The Shining, Denver's winters are for the most
part fairly mild. With the low humidity you'd expect in a high
plains desert, when the snow comes to Denver, it doesn't stick
around for very long.
In fact, take a look at the weather on the fifteenth of February
in recent years (keep in mind, also, that the relative
humidity averages about 28% for these days):

As you can see, Denver willingly takes a bad rap for its winters
to support the ski industry up the hill. Attendees of the
Regatta will attest to the blue skies and dry roads that greeted
them.
But don't let Denver's weather fool you…. The Mile High City
is just an hour from some of the best skiing and snowboarding
in the world.
And even if skiing isn't your thing, Denver offers something
for everyone, including gambling in yesterday's silver mining
mountain towns, sporting events, shopping, and historic sites.
Visit the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame, ascend Pike's Peak,
take in a professional basketball game or a hockey game
with the Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche
(sadly, baseball and football are out of season in February),
see the sights at the Ocean Journey aquarium and
Denver's nationally known Zoo, and -- if all the brew-pubs
in Denver aren't enough for you -- tour the Coors brewery
and an Anheuser-Busch brewery...all within one hour of the
convention site.
